I realize it has been quite a while since I last posted an article here. Therefore, here is a brief update for everybody.
Tchaikovsky has never been a huge influence on my composing - but about a month ago, when I went to see whether I had passed the develish admission exams to composition studies at Vienna's prestigious Musikuniversität the university orchestra was just rehearsing this:
... and then I realized I had made it...
So ... I am quite happy. My job as a Perl programmer at ZSI keeps being both challenging and interesting - and I can study in a - let's say: formalized - way what I've come to feel is my true vocation: composition.
I hope everybody reading this keeps pursuing their dreams as well - all the best!
